How it is made
It ties at the sides because a baby's head is the hardest part of getting anything on. Opening the whole side seam means the top goes on around them rather than over them, which turns a two-person job into a one-person one. The check is woven rather than printed, so it reads the same from either face and the colour cannot rub off.
